Special Populations, first in a series of four panel discussions that make up the first Legislative Action Panel being held as part of Pitt-Greensburg's 2019 Criminal Justice Day. Featured panelists will be David Garlock, an advocate for criminal justice reform and Ciora Thomas, resident founder of SisTers PGH, an organization that advocates for transgender rights and equality. As part of four panels being held throughout the day during the Pitt-Greensburg Criminal Justice Day, The Death Penalty, is the second Legislative Action Panel being presented. Jeremy Davis, partner with Davis and Davis Attorneys at Law and a certified death penalty defense counsel, will discuss the Death Penalty. A Criminal Justice Networking Event will be hald as part of the Pitt-Greensburg Criminal Justice Day on Thursday, November 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Attendees will meet and talk with representatives from local, state, and federal agencies who work in the criminal justice field. Police and Community Relations is the topic of the third Legislative Action Panel to held as part of Pitt-Greensburg's 2019 Criminal Justice Day. Beth Pittinger, MPM, executive director of the Pittsburgh Citizen Police Review Board (CPRB) lead the discussion of police and community relations as other panelists join in. Click Here...

Immigration is the topic of the fourth and final Legislative Action Panel to be held as part of Pitt-Greensburg's 2019 Criminal Justice Day. Representatives from CASA San Jose, a Pittsburgh-based organization that works to support and advocate for Latino communities in Pittsburgh, and representatives of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition (PICC) will discuss the topic of immigration. Coffee and Conversation with the President

Students are invited to join Dr. Robert Gregerson for "Coffee and Conversation with the President" on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Village Coffee House.

Students will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue over FREE coffee on the President, and chat about their Pitt-Greensburg experience.

All of Us RESEARCH PROGRAM

 

On Monday, November 18, Wednesday, December 11, and Thursday, December 12 representatives of the All of Us Pennsylvania, in coordination with the University of Pittsburgh , will be on campus conducting visits with individuals participating in the nationwide All of Us Research Program.

 

The All of Us Research Program is a historic effort to gather data from one million or more people living in the United States to accelerate research and improve health. By taking into account individual differences in lifestyle, environment, and biology, researchers will uncover paths towards delivering personalized medicine.

 

All participants receive a $25 gift card

upon completion of their visit.
