Come celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, on Tuesday, November 6 in Wagner Dining Hall. Veterans Week Movie Night: "Joyeux Noel". According to IMBD.com, Joyeux Noel tells the story of an unofficial Christmas truce in December 1914 on the Western Front during World War I that allowed soldiers from opposing sides to gain insight into each other's way of life. Veterans Week: "Choctaw Code Talkers" Doucmentary. The campus is invited to view the screening of this documentary that tells the story of the Choctaw Indians, who were not yet citizens of the United States but members of the American Expeditionary Forces, when they were asked, in 1918, to use their Native language as a powerful tool against the German Forces in World War I. This set a precedent for code talking as an effective military weapon. Click Here...

Criminal Justice Day will be held Thursday, November 8, in the Mary Lou Campana Chapel and Lecture Center. Come and learn about careers in criminal justice through various professional presentations. Veterans Week: Reflections of Service--A Storytelling Event. As part of its observance of Veterans Week, Pitt-Greensburg will present the storytelling event, "Reflections of Service." It features five US military veterans from the region and is patterned after the national storytelling event that is part of the "Got Your Six" program. Featured storytellers are: Nancy Anderson; Bradley C. Nindl, PhD; Daniel Rr. Rota, PhD; Sarah Treadway ’17, and Lee Wagner. Click Here...

Veterans Week: Campus RED Out!. To close Pitt-Greensburg's observance of Veterans Week, the campus community is asked to Remember Everyone Deployed, by wearing red in honor of all those who are deployed serving in the US Armed Forces. Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Weird and Wonderful in Medieval Bestiary Manuscripts. Join us on Friday, November 9, at 11 a.m. in Village Hall 118 when Pitt-Greensburg will host visiting scholar, Dr. Ilya Dines, who will speak on bestiaries or illuminated manuscripts that depict and describe the world's animals, both real and legendary from the panther to the phoenix. You will hear from professors and a panel of experts in the field to discuss your curriculum and post-graduate opportunities. The PGAA Professional Development Committee will host the  Keys to Career Development and Advancement workshop on Wednesday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Campana Chapel and Lecture Hall. Featured presenter, executive recruiter and alumnus Gerry Peterson (’80), will focus on career development from entry level to top management roles. It’s time to jingle and mingle!  Kick off the holiday season with the PGAA’s Merry Mingle on Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m. in the Millstein Library. Formerly the Holiday Wine Tasting, the Merry Mingle is a new take on an annual favorite.  Have a photo taken with Bruiser, participate in the ugly holiday sweater contest, sample delicious appetizers, indulge in a hot chocolate bar, and more.
