WITH PITT, PA WINS

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHANCELLOR!

Right now, Pitt students, faculty, staff and communities are being caught in the middle of a political fight that’s taking away from higher education in our state. Learn how you can help.

University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Patrick Gallagher went in front of lawmakers on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 to emphasize the critical importance of a multiyear funding strategy for state-related universities. Such a framework is vital for long-term stability, planning, tuition control, and financial aid. The chancellor also discussed Pitt’s precarious position in the wake of receiving no state funding eight months into the current budget cycle.

Please, view the full message from Chancellor Gallagher and learn more on the long term budget resolutions.

Faculty, Staff, and Students, your support is needed! Get Involved by joining us in the WITH PITT, PA WINS campaign! Please consider joining the University and the Pitt-Greensburg campus community and attend Pitt Day in Harrisburg on March 22, 2016 to show your support of the University of Pittsburgh.

If you cannot attend Pitt Day in Harrisburg, consider taking the time to contact your local Legislators. Pitt has made Talking Points available to strengthen your message. Visit WITH PITT, PA WINS and learn more about ways you can make a difference. There you will easily be able to forward your story to your local legislators with a copy going to Governor Tom Wolfe, as well. You will also find sample letters, and other resources that you can use to help Pitt make its case for state funding.

Thank you for taking the time to advocate for the University of Pittsburgh! Together let us show Harrisburg that WITH PITT, PA WINS!
