Commencement 2021-Update

We are pausing our preparations to allow time for new inclusive conversations among students, faculty and staff regarding this most important celebration of our graduating students’ achievements.  We will be focused on developing a plan that provides the best possible experience for graduates and their special guests.

Student leaders have been invited to meet with members of the campus administration, and a Commencement Planning Team, composed of students, faculty, and staff, is in development to assist in crafting the ceremony for the classes of 2021 and 2020.

Highlights

The Academic Village Senate meets every other Monday at noon. Clubs and organizations planning educational events should plan to have a representative attend a Village Senate meeting in order to have their events approved for Academic Village credit.

Monday Night Meet-Ups provide the opportunity to meet fellow students in your major, share information, find study partners, network with others, and just interact with casual conversation. This is a low-key space run by students, for students.

Science Club general meetings are on Wednesdays starting at 11:45am.  Please stop into our Zoom room after your 11:50 course.  We do not mind latecomers! Don't forget to register for the link and password to access this virtual meeting.

Peer Leader Information Session-application deadline, March 29! Make a difference when you become a Peer Leader. Peer Leaders earn academic credit, learn leadership skills, enhance communication skills, and gain other valuable qualities to enhance any  resume. Make sure to attend the virtual information session to find out more and have your questions answered.

News of the World; Dr. Lipika Mazumdar invites students to join her in a discussion of the important news of the day. This is an Academic Village LEARNING event.

Join the Film Club for our weekly general meeting! Our club provides an organization for film buffs where we watch and discuss movies, as well as dig into aspects of comedy and filmmaking. If you want to have a say in what movies are shown, consider joining the Film Club. We have both online and in-person options to meet this semester.
