National and international award winners featured in the March installment of Voices Voices: Celebrating the Beauty and Diversity of America’s Literary Landscape will offer its third round of author readings on Thursday, Mar. 25, at 8 p.m. This virtual gathering is hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and is designed to celebrate the richness of human lives and stories. The event is free and open to the public.


Highlights

College Republicans General Meeting. Come join the College Republicans for their general meeting. Come and see what events our club has planned for the future and talk about current events, Everyone is welcome.

Monday Night Meet-Ups provide the opportunity to meet fellow students in your major, share information, find study partners, network with others, and just interact with casual conversation. This is a low-key space run by students, for students.

PERC Education Job Fair. More than 200 employers from 25 states, plus international organizations will be present to hire teacher candidates in all pre-K through 12 disciplines, as well as in professional certification areas, like counseling and social work. This is a virtual job fair.

Pitt-Greensburg Criminal Justice Club Biweekly Meetings. Our biweekly meetings feature discussion based on current events going on in the world in regards to criminal justice as well as events that we will host in the future.

Circle K General Meeting will be held March 25. Come hang out with Circle K and get involved with some of the service projects we are working on this week. In-person (with COVID-19 protocols)or over Zoom!

Join the Film Club and College Republicans for Pitt-Greensburg Western Film Series. Watch then discuss the impact of the Western film genre on American Culture. This two film series event will be held March 18 & 25.

Pitt-Greensburg: Voices--Celebrating the Beauty and Diversity of America's Literary Landscape Join us at Pitt-Greensburg's new reading series,Voices: Celebrating the Beauty and Diversity of America's Literary Landscape. This FREE virtual event will feature a group of accomplished authors and poets from diverse backgrounds that celebrate the richness of human lives and stories. Pitt-Greensburg student-writers will join these award-winning authors in sharing their work, too.

Pitt-Greensburg's chapter of Psi Chi, the national psychology honor society, will hold a general meeting to talk about club business and fun psychology topics. Visit Engage to RSVP and to access the URL and passcode for this virtual meeting.

The Pitt-Greensburg Theatre Company will present two live performances March 27 & 28 of its spring 2021 production of Dark Hamlet, an adaption of Shakespeare's Hamlet that was written by Stephen A. Schrum. Admission is free to the performances, which will be broadcast via Zoom.

 

General Meeting of Active Minds. Join the Pitt-Greensburg Active Minds group for their general meeting. Discuss topics relating to mental health and reducing the stigma around mental illness. Help plan events for the semester.

American Red Cross Blood Drive. Register today! Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in the American Red Cross blood drive set for March 31. Take time to donate!

Pitt Day in Harrisburg 2021

Pitt Day in Harrisburg will be coming to you VIRTUALLY!

Join fellow Pitt students, faculty, staff and alumni on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from across the Commonwealth starting at 9:30 a.m. to meet with members of the General Assembly via your desktop, laptop, or smartphone.

This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard and to give legislators a first-hand perspective of the challenges and changes facing public higher education, virtually tour the capitol, and more during this one day VIRTUAL event..

Pitt-Greensburg students, alumni, faculty, and staff who register and participate will be entered into a drawing to win Pitt Swag. Drawing will take place following the event and winners will be notified by email.

Commencement 2021-Update

We are pausing our preparations to allow time for new inclusive conversations among students, faculty and staff regarding this most important celebration of our graduating students’ achievements.  We will be focused on developing a plan that provides the best possible experience for graduates and their special guests.
 

Student leaders have been invited to meet with members of the campus administration, and a Commencement Planning Team, composed of students, faculty, and staff, is in development to assist in crafting the ceremony for the classes of 2021 and 2020.

PGAA Accepting Nominations for 2021 Alumni Awards

Help us celebrate our alumni and their successes and accomplishments by nominating them for the 2021 PGAA Alumni Awards. Self- and third-party nominations are currently being accepted for the following awards:
      
         

    Alumnus of Distinction;

    Young Alumni Leadership
   
Volunteer Excellence.


Nominations will be accepted through Monday, July 5, 2021. The recipients will be recognized at the Alumni Awards Celebration Dinner during the Blue & Gold Celebration.
