Happenings

The second mural project has been completed by Pitt-Greensburg’s CARP. After nearly two years of planning, designing, and painting, the mural designated for downtown New Kensington (453 9th Street, New Kensington, PA 15068) will be dedicated at the close of the community clean-up set for Sunday, April 11. The mural project was orchestrated by the Community Arts and Reintegration Project (CARP), part of the Center for Applied Research (CFAR) at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Westmoreland Community Action, a major funder for the project, and Olde Towne Overhaul also partnered with Pitt-Greensburg on the venture.

Commencement 2021-Update

Message from the President

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will host its 2021 Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 1, in the Chambers Hall Gymnasium. Three ceremonies are currently planned for Saturday, May 1: 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. If the RSVPs to this year’s commencement merit the addition of a fourth ceremony, it would be held at 7 p.m. Saturday or at a time to be specified on Sunday, May 2. Graduates, who must RSVP by April 12, will be allowed to invite two guests and will be seated with the guests in “pods” of three chairs. Face coverings will be required at all times. Visit the Commencement web page for complete details about this year’s event.

All planning decisions will continue to be based on the current state of the pandemic with the health and safety of the Pitt Greensburg students, staff, faculty, and alumni, in addition to the general community, in the forefront. Should conditions change and an in-person ceremony not be appropriate, a virtual ceremony similar to that of 2020 will be held, with the expectation of an in-person ceremony to be held at a later date.

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert Gregerson
President, University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg
