News

Pitt-Greensburg Celebrates groundbreaking of the new life sciences building. The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will celebrate the beginning of construction for its new life sciences building with a groundbreaking ceremony that was held on Friday, Aug. 20, at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony took place in the parking area between Mary Lou Campana Chapel and Lecture Center and Smith Hall on the Hempfield Township campus.

A new source of connecting with families has been added to the Pitt-Greensburg website. The Pitt-Greensburg Families webpage can be found under the under the Student Life section and is a great bridge between families and university to find information such as calendars, campus contact info, quick links , newsletters, and the new Parent/Guardian Facebook page! This page is a great tool for all!

Highlights

Pitt-Greensburg Welcome Week: First-Year Student Convocation. First-year students and two guests per student are invited to participate in the First-Year Student Convocation. This event, a tradition on our campus, welcomes students to Pitt-Greensburg and sets the tone for the academic year. Please note that facemasks are required. Students please check your @Pitt email for the link to RSVP to this event. The deadline to RSVP is August 18. Please contact Leigh Hoffman, assistant dean of Student Services, if you have questions.

Pitt-Greensburg Welcome Week: First-Year Student Educational Sessions  All first-year students are required to attend the educational sessions scheduled from 10 am to 4 pm. These sessions fulfill a requirement for the Cornerstone/Seminar courses. Please check your @Pitt email for details.

New Commuter Student Check-In. New commuter students will check in, pick up their ID cards and other information, and have the opportunity to take a tour of campus with their Commuter Mentor. Commuter students will find their assigned time to check in on their Commuter Mentor profile that they received in the mail. Please check your @Pitt email for updates, as these details may change.

 

Pitt-Greensburg Welcome Week: Day Trips!  All first year students should check their @Pitt email for details about this year's Day Trips! The trips are FREE and available on a first-come, first-served basis--so sign up quickly when you receive the information. It's a great way to meet your new classmates, too. Traditionally, these trips have taken students to a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, Kennywood Amusement park, the Renaissance Festival, the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, Station Square, the Heinz History Center, and other fun places

 

Global Experiences are back!  Students interested in studying abroad or exploring somewhere new in the U.S.? Applications for many 2022 programs begin opening on August 27.  For more information interested students should contact Pitt Greensburg Study Abroad Coordinator, Lauren Perri at lap140@pitt.edu

Welcome to PittCat! All are welcome to join us for an overview of the new PittCat and an introduction to search functionality. Workshop presenters will review basic and advanced features of the system, followed by Q&A. Registration is required.

Auditions are open for the Pitt-Greensburg Fall Theater Production. Auditions for the fall theatre production of See How They Run will be held in Ferguson Theater. No experience necessary! Crew members are also needed.
 Credit is available for participation.

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will host its annual Blue & Gold Celebration Monday, September 27, 2021 through Friday, October 8, 2021. We are planning to celebrate in-person.  Don't miss this fun-filled week of activities!

The Art Show@Pitt-Greensburg, is a great venue to showcase the talent and creativity of students, faculty, staff, & alumni, as well as friends of the University who are invited to submit their creations during this fall's Art Show @Pitt-Greensburg! Tee Off for Students at Golf Outing on October 1

Gather your friends, family, and colleagues to compete and have some fun in support of Pitt-Greensburg students and programs. The outing takes place on Arnold Palmer's home course—Latrobe Country Club—on Friday, October 1, 2021, for a 9:00 am shotgun start. Early-bird registration ends September 9.
